After successful completion of this grade students are expected to gain the following Arabic language skills:

 

Listening..

 

• Practice listening to oral reading.

• Answer questions and ask questions.

• Link events logically or chronologically.

 

 

Speaking..

 

• Use simple and compound words.

• Utilize vocabulary in a daily manner.

• Correct pronunciation with emphasis on tone-of-voice variations.

• Narrate or describe an incident or an idea clearly

• Speak in a clear, confident, & articulate manner.

   

 

 

Reading..

 

• Practice silent and oral reading skills

• Link written linguistic symbols to their respective voices

• Logically link words in a sentence

• Properly pronounce words paying attention to short vowels and their effects

• Practice listening to oral reading

• Practice rapid reading

• Read illustrated books and retell to an audience

• Communicate understanding from reading passages

   

 

 

Writing..

 

• Skilfully script letters into words and words into compound sentences

• Organize and re-organize components of sentences to Communicate the intended meaning

• Write complete compound sentences to Communicate ideas as understood from illustrations
