Grade (3)

 

After successful completion of this grade students are expected to gain the following Arabic language skills:

 

Listening..

 

  • Respond to stories and retell stories to class.

  • Comprehend the meaning of paragraphs and texts.

  • Understand simple ethical messages of stories.

 

 

Speaking..

 

  • Properly identify and name material objects.

  • Practice correct pronunciation with emphasis on tone-of-voice variation: inquiry, exclamation, .., etc

  • Answer questions and ask questions

  • Link events logically or chronologically

  • Narrate or describe an incident or an idea

  • Apply basic rules of conversation, such as listening when others speak

     

 

 

Reading..

 

  • Visually identify short vowels & distinguish their pronunciation effects.

  • Distinguish the effect of using Shaddah ( ) on the pronunciation of words.

  • Master the effects of punctuation marks on the meaning and tone of voice: Comma, Period, Question mark, & Exclamation mark.

  • Distinguish short voices from long ones.

     

 

 

Writing..

 

  • Write complete sentences.

  • Organize and re-organize components of sentences to communicate the intended meaning.

  • Write complete sentences to communicate ideas as understood from illustrations.
